NEEM (National Employability Enhancement Mission ) is a flagship program undertaken by government of India in collaboration with AICTE. This program provides skills development training avenues for youth of India. The scheme lays special emphasis on training the underprivileged sections of the society.
Any Indian citizen who satisfies the norms of NEEM Scheme for gaining training under it is deemed to be a NEEM Trainee.
a) A person seeking training under NEEM shall be at least 16 years of age and not more than 40 years of age as on the date of registration. b) A person seeking training under NEEM may either be pursuing his or her Post Graduation/ graduation / Diploma in any technical or non-technical stream or may have discontinued studies after Class 10th. (Available at Clause 4.0 of NEEM Regulation, 2017).
NEEM training shall be for a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 36 months and the trainings must be NSQF compliant.
NEEM training shall provide by a registered Company/Industry as registered with the NEEM Facilitator. Suitable MoU needs to be signed between the NEEM Facilitator & associated industry partner.

To clarify, for NEEM trainees, “Salary” does not exist; the trainees are compensated in form of monthly stipend, which is legally equal to daily wages of an unskilled labor.
No, getting training under NEEM program does not guarantee employment nor the company conducting the training program is bound to offer any employment to the NEEM Trainee.
